Shrubs, 8 to 15 ft.  Flowers (April) are white, suffused rose, without spots or spotted purple to pink.  Corolla cup-shaped to openly campanulate.  Found in and on the margins of mixed thickets and forests from 4,500 to 11,000 ft.  China (Yunnan, Guangxi), NE Burma.

1969/072  (laxiflorum)  EXB:MVW  (+5).  Flowers pure white.

1970/132  (syn. hardingii)  STR  (+5).  Medium shrub with narrow leaves and white flowers flushed rose.

1979/099  BRP  (H3-4).  Hardy, late season white flowers and medium habit.
