In 1996 an expedition to China collected seed from R. sinofalconeri. These plants usually take many years to bloom. Here are the pictures documenting one precocious bloom on a plant in West Vancouver BC owned by Bill Spohn (yours truly, webmaster).

Seed was collected as Cox&Hutchison #7133, an SEH (Steve Hootman) number and  ARS86/392, all from the same plant.

This seed would have germinated in the Spring of 1997 and now 8 years later, on a plant just over 1 metre high - a precocious bloom!
