This is a lovely and famous plant that, as a probable cross between Rhododendron trichostomum and a Ledum species, was considered to be one of the rare bi-generic hybrids in the Ericaceae. Since the genus Ledum has been merged into the genus Rhododendron, this is now a straight hybrid, albeit an unusual and beautiful plant. Small clusters of pure white flowers and a dwarf habit, best in full sun to prevent legginess.
‘Arctic Tern’ A tough, dependable, hardy plant.(-10\R1\2)
