1979/117  Borde Hill  (+5).  Sun-loving little shrub of lightly hairy stems and 2" leaves with light pink flowers in April

Shrubs to 10 ft. with unusual bullate foliage.  Flowers (mid-spring) are white to deep pink.  Native to dry hillsides and rocky slopes from 5,000 to 11,000 ft. in N and C Yunnan, China.

Shrubs to 6 ft.  Flowers (April) are rose to pink or white.  Leaves with soft hairs.  Found on dry, rocky slopes, in pine woods, thickets and scrub at 8,000 ft.  China.

 

1964/106  Brodick  (-5).  Small scale plant of wiry growth sparkling in early April with reddish-pink flowers towards the branch tips.

 

1964/706  (syn. spiciferum)  BRO  (+5).  Rose-pink flowers.

 

1970/114  ‘Fine Bristles’  KW#3953:Windsor  (-5).  A somewhat smaller than typical clone with white flowers suffused rose-pink.  The dark green leaves and stems thickly coated with small bristles.  AM 1955.
