Erect alpine shrubs to 4 ft.  Flowers (mid-spring) are deep purplish blue to rose-lavender or white.  A rarely offered, small-leaved species with attractive flowers.  Native to open alpine slopes from 10,500 to 14,000 ft. in China (N and NW Yunnan and SW Sichuan).
