1993sd336(+10?).These are grown from a packet of old seed which was found in the refrigerator 3 years ago. There was no source, just the designation “magnificum h. p.”It is assumed they are hand-pollinated from a reliable source but we can make no guarantees.
240sd2002A rare and massive big-leaf species closely related to protisitum. The similar large leaves develop their thin indumentum at a much younger age than that species and the flowers also appear much sooner in its long life. The large flowers (early spring) range in color from rose to deep reddish-purple. These seedlings are grown from a hand-pollinated cross here in the RSBG between two good pink forms from Brodick. Rarely offered, almost all of the plants that I have seen in gardens are mis-named hybrids. (+15\R1\7)
