Dwarf but upright growing evergreen shrubs with small, shiny and dark green fragrant leaves.The broadly funnel-shaped yellow flowers appear in mid-spring.This rare (in cultivation) alpine species provides a nice color contrast with the purple and bluish shades so predominant in this subsection.Best in a cool but bright site with excellent drainage.Known only from NW Sichuan, China where it occurs in various alpine habitats from 10,000 to 13,000 ft.
